History
Rado was established in 1917 as Schlup and Co. They produced watch movements in the beginning. With the launch of their first watch collection in 1957, the brand became famous as Rado. Their motto, “if we can imagine it, we can make it, and if we can make it, we will,” gave them the inspiration in generating watches that were celebrated throughout the world. After five years, Rado introduced the Rado Diastar 1, the world’s first scratch-resistant time piece. The unique combination of the toughness of hard metal and scratch proof sapphire crystal in watch making made Rado distinct from the traditional Swiss watch producing brands. Today they are producing about half million watches every year.

Design

The structure of this time piece rests on a stainless steel 35mm case, coated with silver, which is keeps it intact. Shiny, textured, grey dial adds to its ornate appeal. The fold over clasp lets you firmly tie the watch to your wrist, enabling ease of wear. A silver pull and push crown is attached to the bezel for adjusting the time. Closed, solid case back and scratch resistant sapphire crystal window keeps its internal machinery and dial unharmed from regular wear and tear.
