Editor's Note | The Jacob & Co. Opera Godfather is an extraordinary timepiece that pushes the boundaries of haute horlogerie and musical complications. This limited edition watch, part of only 88 pieces worldwide, features a massive 49mm Grade five titanium case, creating an impressive presence on the wrist. At its heart lies the manual-winding JCFM04 calibre, boasting a 50-hour power reserve. The movement powers not only the timekeeping functions but also an intricate music box mechanism that plays the iconic theme from "The Godfather" on demand. This melodic feat is achieved through two cylinder-shaped music boxes visible on the dial, rotating as they play the 120-note tune. The watch face is a theatrical display of watchmaking artistry. The time is indicated on a black guilloché dial at six o'clock, while the rest of the space showcases the mesmerising triple-axis tourbillon and music box cylinders. The sapphire crystal dome allows for a 360-degree view of this horological spectacle. Water-resistant to 30 metres, the Opera Godfather is secured by a black alligator strap with an 18K rose gold deployment buckle. This timepiece is not merely a watch, but a wearable piece of cinematic and horological art, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the extraordinary fusion of music and watchmaking. |
